A Meclauk's Kingdom Story Coming Soon!

I've been very busy lately getting all sorts of things ready for Luminata to be published this year. One of the things I've been working on is for you, my loyal fans. I'm so excited to share with you that I am almost done writing a short story in the world that Luminata takes place in. This short story will be made available to everyone that is part of my newsletter group for free.

Star Flame

The story centers around Opal, one of the Oak Fae fairies, and is about how she finally lands her dream job of being a Guard and how she blows off some energy afterwards. Opal celebrates with several Sparks, her firefly friends, and she does a Star Flame which is a death defying plummet while burning brightly to mimic a shooting star. What could possibly go wrong with that?

Sneak Peak

Opal’s wings fluttered in the gentle morning breeze. The sun’s warm energy was soaking deep into her soul.

At the chirping of a small squirrel, Opal’s eye lids peeled open. “Good morning little one. I hope you don’t mind sharing the Goddess’s gifts with me.” The energy pouring into her seemed as though it was filling a deep well that was bone dry. She found herself enjoying the morning sun more than she had for a long time.

She had already completed the moon cycle ritual beneath the last full moon and had taken to the cave for reflection. Oak Fae always did it this way. In order to fully recharge and connect the Oak Fae would first do reflection and purification a week before a new moon, then the moon cycle ritual, and then finally meditating for two days within the earth before lavishing in the rays of the sun again.

“I know that you may think it’s a big deal Mr. Squirrel, but my twenty-fifth year is supposed to be when the council decides if I can be a Guide or not. I have to soak in enough energy so that they can see all that I am capable of.” Opal propped her head on her arm as she shifted to face the squirrel eating an acorn in the branch above her. “I need to be centered and full of energy in order to answer the Elders’ questions honestly and respectfully.”

The red squirrel let out a small bark of laughter and ran along a branch before leaping to a nearby tree and scurrying out of sight.
